    Would not recommend

    Shocking customer service. Our flat was in a very poor condition when we moved in, with extensive mould, rubbish, stained carpets and not a single part of the flat had been cleaned. Braemore refused to organise cleaners and were entirely unapologetic. We have had numerous issues since with delayed repairs and an unwillingness to attend to basic maintenance. I’ve never given a company a 1 star review before but I really would not recommend.

    No shower for 6 weeks, lied about a rent reduction

    We moved into a flat where the shower didn’t work, the radiators only worked in one room, we had a leak, and then the damp and mould started.

    It took 3 weeks for them to fix the radiators and the leak.

    It took them 6 weeks to fix the shower. The plumber told us both the shower and bath had been incorrectly installed, and because of this they were actually dangerous as the scald protection didn’t work.

    Even though they sent out people to investigate the damp and mould, we’ve never heard anything from them on how they’d fix this.

    They had told us they would calculate a rent reduction once the shower was fixed. They’ve now reneged on this.

    Worst place I’ve ever lived. Worst letting agent I’ve ever dealt with. One star is too many.

    Out of order.

    Can’t speak as a renter,but can as a clients Mum. Cleaned more houses than you can imagine for them to say it was not up to their standard!!! Wasn’t that clean when rented originally. Would love to give them my old Landlords number and see what he would say about my cleaning skills!!! Check of them. Ex army should say enough about handing over excellent quarters. Keeping a deposit for cleaning. Out of order.

    ‘victims’ of Braemore

    There isn’t a single positive thing you can say about Braemore. They regularly breach the Letting Agent Code of Practice. I recommend any ‘victims’ of Braemore to reach out to Living Rent.

    great service

    Scott offered us a great service tailored to our needs when selling our house. He gave us a very personal service, was quick to deal with our questions and gave us good, regular updates on viewings. The agent David was also very good, keen to sell the house and his customer service to us and potential buyers was excellent. The only reason I have only given 4 stars is because Donald from Braemore was less forthcoming with feedback, fortunately he did not do many viewings, he did not tell us when he was leaving and only gave feedback when we asked. If you are selling with Braemore, make sure that it’s Scott you’re dealing with and you will be fine.

    Braemore are the worst rental agency in Edinburgh.
    They refuse to carry out repairs or any form of Maintenance at the properties they rent.

    Due to lack of Maintenance and repair even after repeated emails and calls, I ended up receiving a nasty cut in my hand due to poor beading/skirting. No replies as per from them.

    My flatmate has waited over a year for the shower to be replaced among a whole bunch of other repairs….

    They will ignore all calls and emails the only way to get a response is to attend their office which is a like a scene from the walking dead a bunch of brain dead zombies sitting chatting away while the phones ring and ring.
    So please save yourself the drama and don’t rent with this company! They good reviews you see are posted after they pressure tenants and property owners.

    Extremely disappointing and frustrating

    I would have given 0 stars if possible.
    Applied for one of their rental properties and thought everything was going smoothly until 8 days before our move in date, when I called up to check everything was alright, and they informed me that the landlord had cancelled the tenancy the previous day. They had only tried to call me once, which I missed because I was working – I presume now to tell me about the cancelled tenancy, but I was still unaware of this as they didn’t leave a message either. I tried to call back twice, left a voice message and sent an email to get in contact. It was only when I hadn’t heard from them the next day that I called them and found out what had happened.
    This has left myself and my partner in a very difficult situation, as we had already given our end of tenancy notice to our currently letting agent, and we can’t change our move out date, leaving us with just over 2 weeks to find a property to move into.
    The service I received from Braemore was extremely disappointing and frustrating – they didn’t try to get in contact with me at all to tell me I wouldn’t have a place to live in just over 2 weeks. I understand that it is the landlords fault at the end of the day, but I feel there should be some protection for potential tenants such as myself to stop situations like this from happening. Their lack of communication, and especially how difficult it is to actually get in contact with any member of their staff, just makes this whole situation that much worse. I am also yet to get back my holding deposit of £200, and surprise surprise, I haven’t heard any news about that either.
    I do not recommend Braemore to anyone, and I will not be using them again!
